Key attribute of a product in the mind of the consumer when making a purchasing decision. For example, when buying a house, one purchaser might consider space to be the core product benefit, while another might value style above all else; another consumer may believe location to be most important. By defining core product benefits it is possible to differentiate products to maximise those benefits.
