planeIn botany, any of several trees belonging to the plane family. Species include the oriental plane (P. orientalis), a favourite plantation tree of the Greeks and Romans, and the American plane or buttonwood (P. occidentalis). A hybrid of these two is the London plane (P. x acerifolia), with palmate, usually five-lobed leaves, which is widely planted in cities for its resistance to air pollution. (Genus Platanus, family Platanaceae.) All species have hanging burlike fruits and can grow to 30 m/100 ft high. plane

After mounting of the receivers and digitization of the appropriate landmarks, 3 primary test motions were actively performed: scapular plane elevation (scaption), flexion in the sagittal plane, and humeral external rotation starting with the arm internally rotated and elevated to 90 degrees in the coronal plane. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) in the coronal plane demonstrated an enhancing, expansile mass in the right nasal cavity and ethmoid sinus, with extension into the right orbit (figure 1, A). To localize the activity of aromatase in the brain, we used the tritiated water assay to measure the enzyme activity separately in the homogenate of each serial section of the coronal plane of the brain. |
