corporate anorexia

Undesirable side effect of downsizing or rationalization where a company loses some of the crucial creative staff and experienced workers who gave it a competitive advantage. Companies that downsize have to be careful not to let go of key teams and personnel, without whom the company would find it difficult to carry out its business profitably.
