Dancers in a ballet company who usually dance in groups, in support of the soloists. At the Paris Opéra this is the name given to the whole company.

Costumes in the castle ballroom were beautifully designed, and the corps de ballet particularly caught the eye in the lakeside scenes where the four cygnets were magnificent.
The sight of the numerous members of the corps de ballet in white, dancing in unison, retains its power to impress, and the national dances were lively enough.
Things perk up considerably with the arrival of the swans - a never-ending corps de ballet in snowy white which strikes a series of pleasing tableaux and shows off some deft pointe work.
