Opera by Johann Fux (libretto by P Pariati), first produced at the Hradžin Palace, Prague, at the coronation of the emperor Charles VI as king of Bohemia and the birthday of the empress Elizabeth Christina on 28 August 1723. The plot concerns the Etruscans in a siege of Rome; the opera was composed in elaborate style and staged in great splendour.
