Squares and cubes are represented by the exponent powers 2 and 3 respectively. The reverse operations to squaring and cubing would be finding the square root and finding the cube root. In arithmetic, to multiply a number by itself and then by itself again. For example, 5 cubed = 53 = 5 × 5 × 5 = 125. Alternatively, the cube root of 125 is 5.
