curriculum

In education, the range of subjects offered within an institution or course. The term also refers to the specific series of courses required for graduation and to the series of topics taught within any one course during a semester.

Where many texts on curriculum development draw mainly from behavioral philosophy, this book incorporates a variety of philosophies, judgments, and values--behavioral, humanistic, progressive, liberal, radical, and analytical--applicable to the development of sound curricula for adult learners in diverse social, cultural and economic contexts.
While reassurance was provided at the symposium that teachers would be consulted about the development of the curricula and support materials and that materials would be trialled in schools, meeting the projected timeline of implementation in 2011 seems ambitious if we are going to have the best curriculum for our students.
The article also presents six developmentally appropriate practice principles that further guide the development of health and safety curricula.
