Cushing's syndrome| Condition in which the body chemistry is upset by excessive production of steroid hormones from the adrenal cortex. |
| Symptoms include weight gain in the face and trunk, raised blood pressure, excessive growth of facial and body hair (hirsutism), demineralization of bone, and, sometimes, diabeteslike effects. The underlying cause may be an adrenal or pituitary tumour, or prolonged high-dose therapy with corticosteroid drugs. |

| Bu yazida, gec tani almis ve yanlis astim tanisi ile verilen kortikosteroid tedavisine bagli cushingoid gorunum gelistirmis bir yabanci cisim aspirasyonu olgusu sunulmustur. Dermatoiogical changes can occur with steroid therapy, including a redistribution of subcutaneous fat causing the cushingoid appearance of central obesity, hump back, and moon face. Possible complications include fluid and electrolyte imbalance, muscle weakness and a loss of muscle mass, tendon rupture, osteoporosis, vertebral fractures, aseptic necrosis of the humeral and femoral heads, peptic ulcer, impaired wound healing, a cushingoid state, adrenocortical insufficiency, cataracts, and decreased carbohydrate tolerance. |
