Lucifer

In Christian theology, another name for the devil, the leader of the angels who rebelled against God. In Greek mythology, Lucifer is another name for the morning star (the planet Venus).

As the star of sunrise, Lucifer was the son of the Titan Astraeus, father of favourable winds and the stars, by his daughter Eos, goddess of the dawn. His brother Hesperus, the evening star, was the planet Venus at sunset.
