After several surgical debridements, the patient underwent placement of cutaneous-muscle grafts. Because the patient was able to hear only with her right ear, her mastoid and middle ear disease was managed conservatively with periodic local debridements in the office. Physicians are often forced to use temporary measures and prescribe physical therapy, limited activity, pharmaceuticals or arthroscopic debridements for these patients. |
