density

Measure of the compactness of a substance; it is equal to its mass per unit volume and is measured, for example, in kg per cubic metre or lb per cubic foot. Density is a scalar quantity. The average density D of a mass m occupying a volume V is given by the formula: D = m/V. Relative density is the ratio of the density of a substance to that of water at 4°C/39.2°F.

In photography, density refers to the degree of opacity of a negative; in electricity, current density is the amount of current passing through a cross-sectional area of a conductor (usually given in amperes per square in or per square cm).

New data presented above: i) prove the hypothesis that these Neoproterozoic low-sulphidation veins should contain bonanza-grade concentrations of gold, ii) indicate that highly prospective crustal levels are preserved in these Neoproterozoic systems, and iii) underscore the importance of high density sampling in prospecting within these systems.
