scleroderma

In medicine, condition characterized by thickening of the skin. This results in the skin becoming hard, the joints stiffening, and a gradual wasting of the muscles. It is thought to be caused by malfunctioning of the immune system.

Other uses include validation of irradiation therapy, dermatosclerosis diagnosis, disturbed wound healing, skeletal muscle assessments, synovitis and arthrosis investigation.
