diffusion (fashion)

    0.09 sec.

diffusion

In fashion, a phenomenon which arose in the 1980s whereby designer clothes are made available in a less expensive range.

Cheaper fabrics are combined with the basic elements of the designer's style and although the range usually remains associated with the designer's name, it is differentiated by the label. Diffusion ranges are often made under licence, and aimed at a younger market or a more casual style.
