Dill grows to a height of 45–90 cm/1.5–3 ft, and resembles fennel with feathery leaves and yellow flowers. A native plant of Asia and Eastern Europe, it is now common throughout much of Europe.

Herb belonging to the carrot family, whose bitter seeds and aromatic leaves are used in cooking and in medicine. (Anethum graveolens, family Umbelliferae.)

Experiment with dill weed or cumin on green beans; sprinkle basil and marjoram on tomatoes and summer squashes.
1/2 teaspoon salt Dash pepper 1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/3 cup canola oil 1/3 cup seasoned red wine vinegar or plain vinegar 1/2 cup chopped red onion 1 cup chopped orange ball pepper 6 cups frozen baby lima beans (one 2-pound bag), cooked according to package directions Put the salt, pepper, dill weed, and dry mustard in a 1-cup bottle with cap.
