dockIn botany, any of a number of plants belonging to the buckwheat family. They are tall, annual or perennial herbs, often with lance-shaped leaves and small greenish flowers. Native to temperate regions, there are 30 North American and several British species. (Genus Rumex, family Polygonaceae.) dock![]() A ship awaiting repair, at Falmouth Docks. The great natural harbour at Falmouth was first exploited in the late 17th century. For more than a hundred years, until the early 19th century, the town was a station for the mail packet service, which carried mail to the Americas and the Mediterranean. Today, the docks are still an important centre for ship repairs, but otherwise the town's main industry is tourism.

Maersk Sealand left Long Beach in 2003 and refused to pay the last of its lease payments, claiming that the docking facility was substandard, according to the suit. When Jeny Cole, mayor of Rainer, OR, on the Columbia River, cut the ribbon at the city marina May 15, Oregon became the first state in the nation to complete a large-scale transient docking facility using boater's gas tax monies through the federal Boating Infrastructure Grant program. Elements of the master plan for the expansion of Marina Park include a conceptual planning exercise to determine information on priorities and costs and an operational review and technical study of the current marina docking facility so council can gather details on the money needed to ensure the facility is running efficiently. |
