dolphinfish

Carnivorous marine fish. Dolphinfish are large and brilliantly coloured, with hues of metallic yellow, blue, and silver; their bodies are elongated, compressed, and covered with small scales. They are usually about 2 m/6.6 ft in length and feed largely on flying fish.

Classification

Dolphinfish are in the genus Coryphaena, family Corphaenidae, belonging to the order Perciformes, class Osteichthyes.
