Many autistic children have high levels of homocysteine, (1,5) and methylating dopa increases homocysteine. An enzyme in a pigment cell which helps change tyrosine to DOPA during the process of making melanin. L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that is the precursor to dopa, and dopa is a chemical that's necessary to manufacture dopamine. |
