Motor sport popular in the USA. High-powered single-seater cars with large rear and small front wheels are timed over a 402.2 m/440 yd strip. Speeds of up to 530 kph/330 mph have been attained by the fastest type of drag-racing cars, ‘top fuel’ dragsters - the other categories of professional drag-racing vehicles are ‘funny cars’, ‘pro-stock’, and ‘pro-stock bikes’.
