drupe

Fleshy fruit containing one or more seeds which are surrounded by a hard, protective layer - for example cherry, almond, and plum. The wall of the fruit (pericarp) is differentiated into the outer skin (exocarp), the fleshy layer of tissues (mesocarp), and the hard layer surrounding the seed (endocarp).

The coconut is a drupe, but here the pericarp becomes dry and fibrous at maturity. Blackberries are an aggregate fruit composed of a cluster of small drupes.
