dukka
| In Buddhism, a term for all suffering, evil, and disease. It is used to describe that which arises from the desire to hold onto pleasant experiences, feelings of comfort, or people we like, all of which are inevitably impermanent. From this clinging to the perishable arises suffering – dukka. |
