eidophor

Television projection system, now obsolete, that produced pictures up to 10 m/33 ft square, at sports events or rock concerts, for example. Like other projection television systems, it used three coloured beams of light, one of each primary colour (red, blue, and green), which scanned the screen. The intensity of each beam was controlled by the strength of the corresponding colour in the television picture.
