electrodynamics

Branch of physics dealing with electric charges, electric currents, and associated forces. Quantum electrodynamics (QED) studies the interaction between charged particles and their emission and absorption of electromagnetic radiation. This subject combines quantum theory and relativity theory, making accurate predictions about subatomic processes involving charged particles such as electrons and protons.
