The AN/ALQ-126B was the first multimode, power-managed, reprogrammable defensive electronic countermeasures system used by the Navy and Marine Corps. According to Rex Wade, Bell-Boeing's electronic warfare lead test engineer, some factors can't be effectively tested during flight, such as the interaction between the radar-warning receiver and electronic countermeasures and the aircraft's multimode radar system.
