Patients with a pituitary adenoma present with either an endocrinopathy or a mass effect.

Endocrine therapies are omitted in recognition of the fact that endocrinopathy is an uncommon primary cause of erectile dysfunction except perhaps in aging men (see Schiavi, 1996).
