endolymph

Fluid found in the inner ear, filling the central passage of the cochlea as well as the semicircular canals.

Sound waves travelling into the ear pass eventually through the three small bones of the middle ear and set up vibrations in the endolymph. These vibrations are detected by receptors in the cochlea, which send nerve impulses to the hearing centres of the brain.
