external constraint

    0.02 sec.

external constraint

Limits on the activities of a business that lie outside the control of that business. Such constraints could include: a change in economic circumstances, such as fluctuating currency exchange rates, interest rates, or inflationary pressures; changing fashion and consumer preferences; legislation; and climatic conditions. An example of an external constraint affecting business on a wide scale is the foot-and-mouth outbreak that occurred in the UK during 2001.
