fluorocarbon

There is concern that the release of fluorocarbons – particularly those containing chlorine (chlorofluorocarbons, CFCs) – depletes the ozone layer, allowing more ultraviolet light from the Sun to penetrate the Earth's atmosphere, and increasing the incidence of skin cancer in humans.
