follicleIn botany, a dry, usually many-seeded fruit that splits along one side only to release the seeds within. It is derived from a single carpel. Examples include the fruits of the larkspurs Delphinium and columbine Aquilegia. Follicular lymphoma is defined as a neoplasm of follicle center B lymphocytes (centrocytes and centroblasts) that has at least a partially follicular growth pattern. Gonal-f(R) has been approved in 94 countries worldwide including Europe and the US with indications of stimulation of the growth of ovarian follicles and ovulation in women. Also, the number of primordial/primary (rudimentary) ovarian follicles was reduced in the low-dose group, with a more pronounced decline in secondary (more developed) follicles within the high-dose group. |
