Introduced by Dubuisson and Dennis in 1977, the formalin test is used widely to evaluate analgesic drugs, and it is well known as an animal model of tonic inflammatory pain.
While we wait for more of these products to hit the market, Guard is still a proponent of using formalin in footbaths due to efficacy and low cost.
