frogman

Underwater warfare specialist; the name derives from their appearance when wearing wet-suits, flippers, and masks.

Usually associated with sabotage and attacks on shipping, they are also valuable in carrying out reconnaissance of beaches and underwater obstacles before any amphibious operation. The US Navy Seals and the British Special Boat Service (SBS) are examples of special units that often carry out operations in this manner.
