In business, delivery of goods or services to the purchaser once the purchaser has ordered those goods and services. Fulfilment has become a critical issue in electronic commerce. Electronic commerce firms found they needed to do more than just sign up users and receive orders. The acid test became order fulfilment. Because many electronic commerce companies held no inventory and contracted out order fulfilment they had no control over fulfilment and suffered as a consequence.
