For the study, researchers examined the surgical characteristics and oncologic outcomes of 30 patients who underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy and compared them to 30 patients who had open gastrectomies. Consistent with this possibility are clinical observations showing that BPD can normalize plasma insulin and blood glucose levels in lean subjects with T2D, and that gastrectomies with duodenal exclusion also improve T2D in the absence of significant weight loss. He said: "This may make Mr Fraser the only person in the UK to have had two laparoscopic gastrectomies. |
