Formica

Trademark of the Formica Corporation for a heat-proof plastic laminate, widely used as a veneer on wipe-down kitchen surfaces and children's furniture. It is a plastic made from ureaformaldehyde bonded to fabric or paper. It was first put on the market in 1913.
