grampus

Common name for Risso's dolphin, a slate-grey dolphin found in tropical and temperate seas. These dolphins live in large schools and can reach 4 m/13 ft in length. They have blunt snouts with only a few teeth, and feed on squid and small fish. The name grampus is sometimes also used for the killer whale. (Species Grampus griseus.)
