The evolution of the CBRN Unmanned Ground Reconnaissance Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) exploits next-generation sensor technology to demonstrate enhanced capabilities for existing mounted reconnaissance platforms and the military utility of unmanned ground reconnaissance systems for CBRN applications.
These included deployment of emergency response teams by LAF and UNIFIL; aerial and ground reconnaissance of affected area; search, rescue and relief activities including first aid for victims, medical evacuation by ground and air transportation, deployment of fire-fighting and engineer assets for clearing debris and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tents were also erected on the plain of Sahl al-Marj in the village of Srifa each specializing in a specific disaster res-ponse activity.
One such system, the chem-bio radiological nuclear unmanned ground reconnaissance robot (CUGR), was developed by the Army's Edgewood Chemical Biological Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
