halideAny compound produced by the combination of a halogen, such as chlorine or iodine, with a less electronegative element (see electronegativity). Halides may be formed by ionic bonds (such as common table salt, sodium chloride) or by covalent bonds (such as alkyl halides, organic molecules consisting of a halogen and an alkyl group, such as methyl chloride (chloromethane). Also available are a "bright light" metal halide light source and 0 to 180[degrees] adjustable binoculars with wide field eyepieces. The 350-watt lamp allows for better light control and reduces glare and light pollution, while incorporating all the benefits of Venture's Uni-Form pulse start metal halide systems. |
