I became a Catholic without having all the answers. Yes to writing without having all the answers, yes to Ray Bradbury and Alyce and the Newbery Committee, yes to compassion and humanness, to being disturbed and feeling joy, to life and passion and love and remaking a world. Know that not having all the answers to all the questions all of the time is eminently human and endearingly credible; that having answers to those few questions that are overarching and ultimate is divine, and to be thirsted for. |
