Both

Dutch painter brothers. They were born in Utrecht, the sons of a glass painter, and became pupils of Abraham Bloemaert. They worked together in Rome and Venice. Whereas Andries was interested in peasant life, Jan specialized in landscape, influenced by Claude Lorrain.

Andries was drowned in Venice. Jan returned to Holland and became head of the Painters' Guild in Utrecht.
