dissociationIn chemistry, the process whereby a single compound splits into two or more smaller products, which may be capable of recombining to form the reactant. Where dissociation is incomplete (not all the compound's molecules dissociate), a chemical equilibrium exists between the compound and its dissociation products. The extent of incomplete dissociation is defined by a numerical value (dissociation constant). How to thank TFD for its existence?
