heptathlonMulti-event athletics discipline for women consisting of seven events over two days: 100-metre hurdles, high jump, shot-put, 200 metres (day one); long jump, javelin, 800 metres (day two). Points are awarded for performances in each event in the same way as the decathlon. It replaced the pentathlon (five events) in international competition in 1981. How to thank TFD for its existence?
