The hyssop is a bushy herb formerly used in medicine. It is also used, like its relation mint, in cooking. Leaves are used in soups and teas, and, with flowers, in salads.
Aromatic herb belonging to the mint family, found in Asia, southern Europe, and around the Mediterranean. It has blue flowers, oblong leaves, and stems that are woody near the ground but herbaceous (fleshy) above. (Hyssopus officinalis, family Labiatae.)
