Textile produced by resist-printing the warp or weft before weaving. The term is Indonesian, but ikat fabrics are also produced in parts of Africa.

The work under review focusses on ritual use of the large warp ikat patterned cloths of the Iban of Borneo, known as pua kumbu which are among the most dramatic hand-woven textiles produced in Southeast Asia.
For fall, the palette of the ikat group, based on a weaving technique native to Uzbekistan, was a rich red, yellow, electric blue, a deep green, purple and brown.
At s small showroom area at the entrance to the village, group members display them traditional kain ikat (weavings) and "ready to wear clothes lbu.
