lethargy

In medicine, apathetic state that may arise from a variety of causes, including physical illnesses, such as glandular fever and other viral infections and anaemia; excessive fatigue due, for example, to insomnia; or as a symptom of mental illnesses, such as depression or anxiety. It can also be due to an adverse effect of some drugs, such as beta-blockers. It is important to treat the underlying cause of lethargy.
