Involuntary quivering or shaking of a part of the body. It may be due to fatigue, anxiety, advanced age, debility or a range of neurological conditions, especially Parkinson's disease.

The major clinical features include gait ataxia, progressive intention tremor, parkinsonism and peripheral neuropathy.
We reviewed the medical records of potential cases to exclude patients with secondary Parkinsonism, stroke-induced Parkinsonism, and Parkinsonism as a result of head injury, brain tumor, encephalitis, neuronleptic use, carbon monoxide intoxication, Huntington's disease, Wilson's disease, essential or intention tremor, dementia, verbal aphasia, seizure disorder, psychosis or depression, substance abuse; we also excluded patients with hydrocephalus.
