interlacing

Technique for increasing resolution on computer graphic displays. The electron beam traces alternate lines on each pass, providing twice the number of lines of a noninterlaced screen. However, screen refresh is slower and screen flicker may be increased over that seen on an equivalent noninterlaced screen.
