interjection

Word that is used to express an emotion such as surprise, admiration, or anger. Interjections are mainly used in spoken English. Examples are Oh!, Hey!, Mmm!, Ouch!, Shhh!, Whew!, and Wow!

There are many other expressions that are like interjections. For example Hello!, Hi! (as a greeting); Thank you!, Thanks!, Cheers! (to show gratitude); Watch out!, Be careful! (as a warning); Sorry! (as an apology); Yes!, OK!, All right! (to show agreement); and No!, No way!, Not likely! (to show disagreement).
