Ischia

Volcanic island about 26 km/16 mi southwest of Naples, Italy, in the Tyrrhenian Sea; population (2000 est) 50,000. It has mineral springs (known to the Romans), beautiful scenery, and is a holiday resort. The chief town is also Ischia; population (1991) 16,000.

The researchers got permission to make computed tomography-scans of the pelvis, which is kept at the British Museum in London and they could refit the pieces of the pubis, ischium, and ilium together in a three-dimensional, virtual reconstruction.
Additional injuries included a distal femur fracture and a fracture of the right ischium.
It is described by some as attaching the sacrum to the ischium (Levangie and Norkin, 2001), and by others as attaching the sacrum, ilium and coccyx to the ischial tuberosity (Agur and Dalley, 2005; Basmajian, 1982) (Figure 1).
