jasmine

Any of a group of subtropical plants with white or yellow flowers. The common jasmine (J. officinale) has fragrant pure white flowers that yield jasmine oil, used in perfumes; the Chinese winter jasmine (J. nudiflorum) has bright yellow flowers that appear before the leaves. (Genus Jasminum, family Oleaceae.)
