jeté

In dance, a jump from one foot to the other. A grand jeté is a big jump in which the dancer pushes off on one foot, holds a brief pose in midair, and lands lightly on the other foot.

jeté

In music, a style of bowing on string instruments. The upper part of the bow is made to fall lightly on the string so that it rebounds several times during the downward motion and repeats notes in a rapid staccato.
