dismissal

Ending the employment of a worker. Workers may be fired if they are not doing their job properly, for example, because of excessive absenteeism. Alternatively, they may be made redundant if the need for their services no longer exists. Workers who are unfairly dismissed can appeal to an industrial tribunal.
